I had the chance to stay at a recently renovated junior suit with fireplace, on the ground floor facing the street. The suit itself is really nice, the fireplace is excellent. Curtains are heavy enough to block out any light from the street but without the curtains there is no privacy in the room due to close proximity to the street. Also every morning at 6am a snowplow came to clean the hotel`s driveway which served as a wake-up call - upon check-in the receptionist did ask if I want a room on an upper floor in case the ground floor is too noisy so I knew I made a tradeoff of some noise in exchange for a renovated suit.

The hotel had a very cosy "old-world" vibe - truth to be told, a little outdated in its wallpaper and carpeting, but overall it felt comfortable and homey. The room was huge, beds were extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was so large that it had two sinks! It's located a little further away from the town centre of Banff, so expect to walk 8-10 mins past several other inns and hotels before reaching the centre. That said, there are a couple of bus services right outside the hotel that you can utilise - just be prepared to wait.

Excellent location on the quieter end of town but easily walkable to breweries, restaurants, and shops. The heated parking garage was a huge plus. Our suite was comfortable and quiet and the perfect place to unwind after a day of skiing. The hotel restaurant breakfast had plenty of options and was very convenient with its early opening time. Overall I would definitely recommend Royal Canadian Lodge.

Big room with tons of space, an excellent bathroom and a fireplace!! Ability to open the window was a bonus to let fresh air in. Car park was big, warm and easy to access. Very friendly and useful concierge service who was extremely welcoming and all round a good place to base your Bannf / Lake Louise winter trip out of without the party crowd in house

My family got the Junior Suite, it is big enough to accommodate 2 adults and 1 toddler. The resort is within 7-10 min leisure walk to the main shopping areas, along Banff Avenue but not as busy / loud to traffic as the other hotels that are closer to town. Parking was indoor and heated. The fee is $20/day.
